Periodontal Disease and Other Systemic Conditions

An association has been found between periodontal disease and a number of systemic conditions including rheumatoid arthritis, osteoporosis, respiratory disease and Alzheimers Disease. The exact mechanism and contribution of periodontal disease on these systemic conditions is presently the topic of a number of ongoing research studies.
